My Views on Fragmented Reading
With the rapid development of digital technology on the Internet, a wide world can be opened up in front of our eyes with only a small screen. To some extent, the paper book seems to have become distant from us, and fragmented reading emerges as The Times require.
The characteristic of “fragmented reading” is that the reading mode is incomplete and interrupted. With the increasing popularity of this way of reading, topics like “fragmented reading leads to people’s lack of thinking” and “shallow reading prevalence” have been repeatedly mentioned. So, does fragmented reading does good or bad for us on earth?
Some people say that this is a new way of reading, and there is a large amount of fragmented information that fills our fragmented time. During the morning rush hour, or the daybreak we can take out our mobile phones to flip through WeChat or to check Weibo, which it is regarded as reading in a broad sense, thus makes reading more popular.
However, it is also said that fragmented reading makes people difficult to calm down and not concentrate for a long period of time to read a real book. People are long bound by the Internet and hit by a huge amount of information, and therefore hardly get enough time to ponder over a problem, and the fragmentation of thinking cannot be avoided.
From what we have discussed above, we can make a short summary that while the development of high-tech knowledge, there is no denying that fragmented reading is more and more popular. It’s high time we should follow this trend. We will change our way of reading if we choose the topic on our own, not recommended by big data. Fragmented reading is a double-edged sword and the choice is ours.
